All the artworks from our Artist Residency "Exploring Digital Spaces and How Another Urban Social Contract is Possible through Art" are now available to view on our website!
Rather than focusing on the impact of digital technologies on our ability to live together in cities - which has been the focus of our research for the past years -, our latest International Artist Residency explored how communities use digital platforms to create safe spaces that facilitate connection, organization, mutual support and, sometimes, collective change.
By shifting the focus from cities to digital spaces, the Artist Residency aimed to look at the role of art as a research method, to explore how digital spaces function, what brings people together and how participants experience a sense of security and belonging, even when they are physically apart.
This program is part of the ‘Pop-Down and Beyond’ phase, which represents the final year of Edgelands as we know it, and the potential launch of a new format in 2026.
